A SOUND RELIEF

POPULAR DUTCH ROCK BAND RELEASE DOUBLE DVD SET!!! 2005 is a year in token of birth for this unique Dutch rock band. After touring Europe end of 2004 while pregnant, vocalist Anneke van Giersbergen gave birth to her first child in March 2005. On May 23 an extremely international audience (more than thirty different nationalities!) witnessed the recording for DVD at the famous live club Paradiso in Amsterdam. They were treated to a sublime live concert accompanied by an outstanding 3D video animation show conceived exclusively for this project by promising Dutch and Polish 3D artists Michel de Klein and Marcin Pazera. For this DVD entitled ‘A Sound Relief’, THE GATHERING played a fine selection of their more fragile songs. ‘A Sound Relief’ will be released worldwide as a double DVD with great bonus material mid October, while the band continue to work with producer Attie Bauw (How to measure a planet?) on their eighth studio album to be released early next year. By than the band will, at long last, hit the road again to promote their new album. During this 2006 world tour the band will record a second live DVD entitled ‘A Noise Severe’ featuring their more heavy rock songs.
