When using the word “arson” in connection with black metal band VALKYRJA, it is not related to the events that took place in Norway in the early 90s. This band hails from Sweden and sets things on fire through music only. Best proof is their debut full-length “The Invocation Of Demise”. Originally released by Northern Silence Productions in 2007, the album is being re-released by Metal Blade Records in order to get it the recognition that this furious slab of metal truly deserves.
VALKYRJA is black, menacing, evil, dark, sinister and hateful. Maybe these attributes apply to many other bands in this scene, but VALKYRJA have one advantage: They manage to channel their hate into gripping and always rhythmic songs. The burst of their negative emotions is focused, their energy is well bundled, their rage grips you by the neck, their darkness pulls you down.
Riffs at breakneck speed and a brutal velocity meet grandiose melodies and epic arrangements, unifying all virtues of black metal on “The Invocation Of Demise”, a records which will appeal to all fans of the genre, from NAGLFAR to IMMORTAL.
Metal Blade and VALKYRJA – a covenant of blood, fire and death!
