Thrash or die – the motto! LAZARUS AD – the name! No one can stop them in their quest to become one of the leaders of modern thrash metal. Formed as recently as spring 2005 in the frozen tundra of South East Wisconsin, this band redefines the combination of alcohol and aggression in relation to the music. Will-less hadbanging metallers will drink any bar empty to the sounds of this group. However, their sound is not nearly a jump back into the heyday of the Bay Area. They rather add their own personal note to the successful 80s style, focusing on varied songwriting, intelligent and catchy riffing, powerful mid-tempo grooves and grandiose guitar leads. Armed with nothing but a three-track demo, they managed the impossible, namely to secure a support slot for the legendary Anthrax. In the wake of the attention gained by the band, Earache Records approached them to include the song “Last Breath” in the compilation “Thrashing Like A Maniac”, with LAZARUS AD being the only unsigned band on the CD. Metal Blade didn't need to be asked twice and signed this hungry, hopeful and driven band on the spot in spring 2008. LAZARUS AD's debut album “The Onslaught”, self-produced by the band in the meantime, was remixed by James Murphy (ex-DEATH/TESTAMENT) for a spring 2009 release upon the hungry masses. There is talk of a thrash revival everywhere, of amazing newcomers and a second coming of thrash, but one thing is for sure: LAZARUS AD have something that sets them apart from the rest. They are not stuck in the past. Their own interpretation of thrash, which doesn't exclude modern elements, will immediately put them at the forefront of the whole genre! Having said that, there's only one more thing to add: THRASH OR DIE!!!
