Halocline is a solo project lead by Valérie Leimgruber. She is a swiss singer that met success with the swiss band Laugh that released three records in the 1990's and the 2000's. This band emerged from the anticipated BPS contest that let the band win the final competition with a 30.000 CHF prize for being the best artist live. They played more than 100 shows, playing with biggest names such as Marillion, Radiohead and HIM to name a few.
The band stopped its activity in 2001. That was the time Valérie decided to create a solo project where she can control everything, from writing to recording up to the final product and artistic direction. The album has been produced by the producer Dimitri Tikovoï who immediately accepted to help Valérie arranging the tracks.
Halocline also got support from the UK band IAMX who accepted to remix one track of the abum, Obsidian, the darkest song that deals with the eruption of a volcano in Iceland that almost paralysed the whole Europe for more than a month.
Halocline already played live in Switzerland and England and is planning to tour in 2020 to support the release of the album. The live setup is adapted to all venues, from solo setup, to two musicians and a 4 members band for biggest venues.
