DESCRIPTION

ESEWE is the first album by MASAO, led by the twin brothers Ben and Peter NDOCKO. The album carries the name of an ancestral dance practiced by the Bantou Douala tribe well before the start of the slave trade along the coast of Cameroun. Between tradition and contemporary influences, the music is partly inspired by the ritual burial ceremonies of ancient Africa, while at the same time reclaiming with great panache the fervor of the rythm sections of ragga, a swaying tempo inherited from reggae, famous music from the Carribean. For a long time already considered to be amongst the best dj's of Paris, melting pot of the cultures of the world, Ben and Peter have certainly found the recipe of a subtle and efficient dosage of the traditional Mukeng, the bells that recall a thousand eternal African melodies, and the famous "riddims", the rythm of Jah, God of the Rastas. Discover without hesitation ESEWE, the first album by this group which proposes a happy marriage between a fusion of African origined music associated with the varried musical tastes of several generations of music lovers.
