After the successful comeback with the pop/rock album "Human" (2015) the singersongwriter finally opens his private monastery treasury. With the spiritual songs from the album "RUAH" Michael Patrick Kelly throws himself into the theme of ‘God’ without any restrictions. You can hear why he is able to do it: In the six years he spent in the quietness of a French monastery he found a sense in all this and wrote his songs using this deep experience. If you’re waiting for weak hypocrisy or new platitudes from a church-day christian pop factory, it turns out to be completely the opposite: The music is so exact, so brightly composed, so excellently played and Kelly’s exceptional voice is so engaging that solely from a music point of view the album is one of the most high-quality pop releases of the past years. But at the same time it takes itself and the listener all the time deeper to the presence of the greater absentee.
