Fuzz-science fiction rockers Skraeckoedlan are set to do the international release of their debut 2011 album "Äppelträdet" (The Apple Tree). Since its initial release 2011 in Sweden, "Äppelträdet" has been a gem that's hard to find. When the album was first released it reignited and marked the start of the modern Swedish stoner scene. The record will be released through The Sign Records and comes available on CD and vinyl with world wide distribution.
Originally recorded in 2010, in Truckfighters’ Studio Bombshelter, the album will once again see the light of day this year, when it returns as a 180g transparent green vinyl housed in a single sleeve cover with updated artwork. A CD version with the original artwork will also be available, both versions featuring the ten seeds that grow to be the Apple Tree.
As a debut album, Äppelträdet impresses in terms of the songwriting and use of structure, the hooks, the riffs and the usual aspects that would stand out in well-made stoner rock..” - The Obelisk
”This band possesses a unique ability to combine dissonance, power and volume with harmony, melody and rhythm and because of that, these songs are absolutely glued into my brain. I cannot recommend Äppelträdet to you enough. In fact, I'm gonna put it to you this way…if you don't like this one, then perhaps rock music just isn't your thing.” - Heavy Planet
Äppelträdet stands deep-rooted and thick-trunked, its branches offering the sweet taste of mammoth melody, and each song you pick is bigger and juicer than the next. It’s an abundance of pure heavy, a bushel-full of bottomed-out riffs in which they cover many of the essential stoner sounds… You know, I kind of hope this month lasts for a really long time because I don’t want to get off Skraeckoedlan’s trip anytime soon. It’s that good.” - Rockbox
