Overkill is the alpha and the omega of thrash metal. With a career spanning over two decades and 14 full-length albums, Overkill has remained a constant in the metal genre it helped define. Wrecking Everything from 2002 is Overkill’s second full-length live album, recorded at the Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park, New Jersey. The album contained only songs that had not been on their previous live offering Wrecking Your Neck, some simply because they were released on later albums, but also a few early songs from albums such as Taking Over and Under the Influence. But Wrecking Everything — Live still harkens back to 1985 with Overkill and includes choice nuggets from eight albums in the catalog, standouts being muscular riff monster Long Time Dyin, speed demon Shred, and nefarious tempo-shifter Evil Never Dies. The album includes a great thrash gig from start to finish, enhanced by a gutsy, clean, and powerful mix that makes Wrecking Your Neck sound thin and tinny in comparison. And one can't ignore Ellsworth's ever-strong vocal contributions and undeniable energy. The same show was used for Overkill's first ever DVD, Wrecking Everything - An Evening In Asbury Park, also released in 2002. The new digipak edition is limited to 1000 copies. Digitally remastered using 24-Bit process, released on a golden disc
