“Heliotropiske Reiser” is an album of instrumental explorations in spaced out kraut rock, ambient, dub, acid house and electronic progressive rock. Alwanzatar has existed since 2011 as the experimental one-man project of Krizla (Tusmørke, Spectral Haze). The album was recorded over a six-month period in 2016 and 2017, in Krizla's home studio Holy Space!, situated by the woods above the suburban area Groruddalen in Oslo. Here, heavy traffic, industry and high rises meet the wilderness. The sounds are inspired by visiting forest denizens, airborne vehicles crossing the sky signalling in pulses of coloured lights, slow hazy sunsets, and early morning moon light. The album was mixed and mastered by Helge Taksdal in Taakeheimen Lydrike, Oslo. “Heliotropiske Reiser” is an instrumental album conveying the droning surge of inner space travel, the horror and ecstasy of magickal revelation, and the colours seen by those who turn away from the sun. Flute, drum patterns and synthesisers are combined in world music from other worlds.
