THE QUEST FOR THE SACRED MELODY

Titled The Quest for the Sacred Melody, ARMOURED KNIGHT’s first full-length promises to establish them as one of the freshest and most powerful forces in contemporary classic metal. Totalling eight songs in 35 minutes, this new work marks an evolution in their sound, preserving their essence while embracing a more mature, faster, and more energetic approach. Indeed, when ARMOURED KNIGHT get going, they really get going – truly, this is SPEED METAL of a most mid-‘80s vintage – but even when cruising at such unsafe speeds, there’s a bright & dynamic melodicism at the core of their sound, with bountiful, equally bright & dynamic leads stacked healthily atop; the latter can be attributed to a more pronounced power metal influence, namely early Blind Guardian. As such, The Quest of the Sacred Melody is truly titled; the songwriting runs the gamut of heroic to melancholic, but everything’s streamlined for maximum power, all whilst sounding like the same band. What’s more, the gleaming and yet just-rough-enough production truly nails that vintage vibe, especially setting the night on fire when ARMOURED KNIGHT decelerate to a mid-tempo, such as on the moody & marching “Endless Light.” The time is NOW to begin The Quest for the Sacred Melody!
