Bastard of Loran came into existence as a project in the spring of 2020 in Barcelona, Spain, through its founders Alex “Femto” Vogel (Aonarach, Arna, Varkaros) and Arnau “Londor” De Castro when they decided to create a variant of Black Metal that pays tribute to the video game sagas directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, and Kentaro Miura’s manga series. The project intends to explore the Dark Medieval Fantasy genre from an insightful perspective, with ritualistic organs, blood‐freezing guitar melodies and an epic, vampiric atmosphere, channeling the cruel echoes of humanity’s struggle and despair, as well as introducing the listener to the brilliant transcendental moments that these worlds bring to the readers.
