EMULATIONS

Emulations is a massive new Blue Heron release comprising brand-new studio tracks paired with live-in-the-studio recordings from a college radio session at Albuquerque's KUNM. The plan came together when Blue Heron were preparing for an upcoming tribute project and decided to keep their streak of new releases every year since 2021 alive by pulling a batch of material together to maximize their studio time. The result was four new studio tracks (three covers and one original song) alongside four live recordings from the radio session. The release title Emulations comes from a lyric in one of the covers, and fit the concept of a record where the desert rockers are playing other bands' songs or performing live versions of their own tunes, all in typically crushing fashion.
