S.L. Coe was the frontman in great German speed and power metal bands. This was the case for Scanner's 'Terminal Earth', Reactor's 'Farewell to Reality' and Angel Dust's 'To Dust You Will Decay'. 'Metal' is his solo album from 2000, fans described his voice as: "he had the potential to hang with some of the best: Scheepers, Dirkschneider, Deris, Wagner and Hansen". The C.O.E. project is similar to most other German power metal in that it features a series of anthems with flighty, melodic mute picking and massive chorus parts. Maybe somewhere like some of Gamma Ray's mid-period, or a more matured translation of the debut Scanner, and of course like Angel Dust's best album, the one with Coe on vocals.
