Tales of Tragedy was written in dark times. After the worldwide pandemic was over, all band members had to deal with different struggles like loosing a beloved one, broken up relationships, health issues or working places in jeopardy. Furthermore the whole world became recognizable bitter and colder. All of this concludes in very serious and dark lyrics that leave less space for feel good moments or happy endings.
The songwriting continues where the last E.P. has ended: All of the new songs have a much bigger death metal influence. Even when there are still the common trademark breakdown parts, new elements like shredding black metal guitars or much melodic elements has been added to the sound design.
With Stephan Hawkes mixing and mastering the new record, the overall sound is the best outcome on any Call of Charon production yet. In the past, Hawkes took bands like Atilla or Chelsea Grin to the next level with his outstanding abilities and Tales of Tragedy will be no exception!
