Some people say it was Albert Einstein who said it, but I'm pretty sure it was Hristo Stoichkov: 'Luck doesn't exist'. Some bands ride their whole careers on a single song, what the experts call a One Hit Wonder. Around here we'd probably just call it a flash in the pan, something a bit closer to home. Other bands manage to put out one or two great records, maybe even three. Beyond that, it gets harder to find bands with more than four solid records. Those bands have something special, a kind of magic. Anyone who knows them has a clear reference, a foundation, a concept, a way of doing things that captivates and hooks you in, just like the case we've got here. CRIM's fifth LP, 'Futur Medieval', keeps the flame of their previous four albums alive. It's a killer record, full of energy and passion. As always, it's got its anthems, those shout-along choruses, the trademark synchronized punch in every song, and those electrifying guitars that slam their trump cards down from the very first note. CRIM, formed in 2011, is arguably the biggest punk band in Catalonia (Spain).
These extremely talented musicians have achieved serious local fame, playing to thousands over and over again, and writing powerful songs that are in many ways driving a very much flourishing scene in Northern Spain.
Crim's popularity outside the Catalonian region has been growing rapidly, as that same sense of authenticity trickles down into the music itself, and their 'no compromise' approach to writing and performing powerful and catchy tunes is in many ways universal - and for fans, easily identifiable and inviting, regardless of what language they speak.
