Saxophonist Dick Heckstall Smith had a major role in the British Blues boom in the 1960s, playing in the bands of Alexis Corner, Graham Bond, and John Mayall.
In the late 60s he joined Colosseum, and ventured into the little explored territory at the time where Blues, Jazz and Rock meet. He also had a spell with Pete Brown’s Battered Ornaments. In addition to doing session work he released a number of solo recordings.
