TRACK LIST

Rooted in traditional country music but just as comfortable with pop, folk, bluegrass and honky-tonk, Dolly Parton would become one of the most successful crossover artists ever. Discovered when she was 12 while performing on Knoxville television, Parton was quickly signed and was soon performing on the Grand Ol Opry. The combination of a clear, accurate voice that could be tremulous with passion while exuding a childlike tenderness and the ability to craft emotionally engaging songs would culminate into probably the most successful country music career of all time.
By 1977, Dolly Parton was not yet a household name. With a number of country hits and a moderately successful television variety show behind her, she began to embark on a high-profile crossover campaign, attempting to aim her music in a more mainstream direction and increase her visibility outside the confines of country music.  Her first entirely self-produced effort, New Harvest...First Gathering (1977), highlighted her pop sensibilities, both in terms of choice of songs and production. Though the album was well received and topped the U.S. country albums chart, neither it nor its single ‘Light of a Clear Blue Morning’ made much of an impression on the pop charts.
However, Parton now turned to high-profile pop producer Gary Klein for her next record and 1977's Here You Come Again, became her first million-seller, topping the country album chart and reaching number 20 on the pop chart. The Barry Mann-Cynthia Weil-penned title track topped the country singles chart, and became Parton's first top-ten release on the pop chart too.
Prior to the album’s release, Dolly had already gone out on the road where she played eighteen concerts in the US between April and December ’77. During the tour she performed one show which is still remembered as probably her best gig of the era. The concert took place at New York’s tiny Bottom Line Club in the city’s bohemian Greenwich Village, where the entire event was recorded for live FM Radio broadcast in the greater New York area.
Now available in its entirety on this new CD, this magical live performance can now be enjoyed once more by Dolly Parton’s thousands of fans across the globe.
