In Louisville, Kentucky, four friends decided that they wanted to do something decidedly different from their previous bands. After forming in 1995, ELLIOTT put out a 7" and began touring. In a short time, the band had a loyal following, a new drummer, and a deal with Revelation Records. ELLIOTT's debut full-length, U.S. Songs, was released in June of 1998 to critical acclaim while winning the hearts of the independent music world. After a year and a half of touring and songwriting, the band found themselves in Los Angeles recording 2000's False Cathedrals with accomplished producer/engineer Toby Miller (WALLFLOWERS, KORN, Fiona Apple). Far surpassing and all but abandoning their post-hardcore roots, ELLIOTT created a sophisticated and elegant rock album of epic proportions. False Cathedrals is the crown jewel of ELLIOTT's achievements.
