Eric Clapton began his huge world tour of 2006/2007 with a warm up show in France on May 6th ’06, following which he and his group performed numerous shows in the UK ending, inevitably, his British-leg with a week of concerts at London’s Albert Hall.
May, June and July were largely then spent touring central Europe, before, in August, save for one gig in Moscow, he took the month off. Things resumed in September and October, which Clapton spent touring the U.S. Then, on November 11th ’06, Eric and entourage touched down in Japan, for no fewer than eighteen shows across the land of the rising sun, performing multiple dates in Nagoya, Osaka and Tokyo, plus a single show at the Dome in Sapporo on 26th of November.
While the entire Japanese leg of Eric Clapton’s 06/07 tour was a roaring success, it remains his Sapporo show which deserves special mention. Still revered by fans as possibly Clapton’s finest ever Japanese concert, the entire show was also recorded for live FM Radio Broadcast, and is now available on disc for the first time on this new 2CD Set.
