Guitarist Johnny Moraes decided to form a metal band with a more aggressive, heavier and more melodic approach in 2005. He
started looking for musicians that would share the same visions and found them in Biek Yohaitus and Alex Pasqualle (bass and vocals, respectively).
HEVILAN was born - a band that focuses on the virtuosity and musical development in all its forms.
The 3-track EP "Blinded Faith", full of great compositions, was released a year later and introduced HEVILAN to the metal heads and the music press alike.
Shortly after the release, HEVILAN hit the road and presented the EP live in four Brazilian states in the course of the "Blinded Tour".
One of the highlights was surely the opening slot for the German band PRIMAL FEAR in Sao Caetano do Sul/SP.
The band was constantly working on new material and the debut quickly began to take shape. With the record composed and the pre-production made, it was necessary to find a drummer with the skills for the task to come.
Various auditions with many musicians later, AQUILES PRIESTER (PRIMAL FEAR) accepted the invitation to join HEVILAN for the album recordings.
HEVILAN’s debut „The End Of Time“ was recorded in two stages and with three producers:
Producer Adair Daufembach took care of the guitar, bass and drum recordings; whereas the vocal, choir and string quartet
recordings as well as the mix and mastering were done by Brendan Duffey and Adriano Daga at the Norcal Studios.
For the Brazilian distribution, HEVILAN teamed up with the record label Voice Music.
As soon as the album was released in Brazil in 2013, the music press praised the debut, giving it the highest grades possible in
many reviews. The record was also chosen as best Brazilian power metal release in 2013 on the website Road To Metal.
That helped HEVILAN to become the first Brazilian band to sign a record deal with the famous German record label MASSACRE RECORDS.
To complete the band’s line-up, drummer Rafael Dysyz - who played half of the "Blinded Tour" - was originally recruited as a special guest on live shows, but has now become a permanent band member.
Because of the good press, generated by the great performances delivered at the live shows of the "End of Time Tour" in 2014 and 2015, Johnny Moraes was recruited by a local producer to play side by side with WARREL DANE (NEVERMORE, SANCTUARY) on his South American tour in April 2015.
Now, with its stable line-up and the worldwide release of "The End of Time" in late June 2015 via Massacre Records, HEVILAN are ready to reach even higher grounds.
