Each selection of this collection was either written, produced, arranged or performed by the prolific behind the scenes New York City super talent Jimmy Radcliffe. Radcliffe was covered by many from Aretha Franklin to Tom Jones, Ray Charles to Eric Burdon, and in the late 1960’s had his own production company Baby Cakes. (a 60’s term of endearment). We focus on the Classic Soul side of Jimmy’s work. From down in the vaults basement comes the early 'Girl' sounds of Barbara Jean English's Everybody's Gonna Be There But Me and a love plea from The Relatives' for A Change Of Heart. Needing a quick spread of the talcum is Diamond Neval's dancer Take A Look , then the top shelf classic grooves of Jimmy Radcliffe and Pat Lundy. A number of these songs inspired covers from serious soul contenders including Jackie Wilson’s shot with Soulville, Jay Jordan and Mr. Jimmy Bee both cut If It Wasn't For Love and More Than Ever Before landed on Carolyn Franklin's debut LP "Baby Dynamite". The collection has been put together by Jimmy’s son Chris, taken from the Radcliffe tape vaults with all tracks appearing on CD for the first time. Chris has been busy promoting his fathers songs and productions resulting in several film placements and a Ford Mondeo advert in recent years.
