PASSENGER was a German AOR/rock band from the Stuttgart area. The best-known member was drummer Peter Garattoni, who played in the band Eulenspygel and later also played in Rebel (with John Lawton), Tox, Veto, Midnight Darkness and other bands. With his GAMA music publishing company (he was the general manager at GAMA) and the Spygel recording studio in Kirchheim/Teck, Sri Lanca (aka SL Records) was one of the first labels he worked for. Later, GAMA became better known for heavy metal releases, including acts such as Stormwitch, Gravestone, SDI, Darkness, Necronomicon, Tokyo Blade, Paul Dianno‘s Battlefield, Sudden Darkness, Vectom, Tyrant, Vampyr and others. Another heavy metal band was Six Point Six. Two members of Passenger can be found in their line-up: Frank Wörner (guitar) and Michael Stahl (bass). Peter Krakor (vocals) and Peter Krüger (keyboards) continued as a pop duo under the name Krüger & Krakor. Passenger was possibly just a studio project.
‘Move Time’ is reminiscent of AOR acts such as Toto, but also conveys a certain 70s feeling. No wonder, as the album was recorded in 1981. And there is no doubt that all the musicians involved were highly talented. Garattoni‘s wife Li‘s vocals can be heard in the background. Together they were successful with esoteric music on Sony Music in the 90s and 2000s. This is the first official CD release of ‘Move Time’, exclusively restored and remastered.
