Apollon Records have now rereleased Pogo Pop’s sophomore album Crash (first released in 1993 by Norsk Plateproduksjon, Sony). The debut Pop Trip came in 1992 and was instantaneously regarded as a Norwegian classic. A short year after, the follow-up album Crash was ready for release in September of ’93. It’s been said time and time again that a band’s second album never manages to match the energy and quality of the debut and years can go by before it is released. This was not the case for Pogo Pops. They managed to serve a fresh classic! The following tour was a victory-lap across the country in many ways but the final medal was winning the Spellemansprisen (Norwegian Grammy). The award statue found its home in the legendary rock club Garage in Bergen, where it now greets people with its service as a door handle at its entrance.
