With their second full-length album, "Schattenwahn" (Shadow Madness), SCHRAT cement their status in the German black metal scene. Originally released in 2011, this work finally celebrated its long-awaited vinyl premiere in 2019 via Folter Records. SCHRAT stand for uncompromising, atmospheric black metal deeply rooted in the tradition of the 90s, without sacrificing their own unique sound.
"Schattenwahn" offers over 60 minutes of pure fury paired with dark melodies. The band eschews modern gimmicks, opting instead for clanging riffs, hateful vocals, and a massive drum foundation. Lyrically, the album explores themes such as nature mysticism, death, and darkness – all written entirely in German, which adds further intensity to the raw atmosphere.
