BRAND NEW ALBUM FROM DEATH METAL VETERANS SINISTER THEIR NINTH ALBUM IN THEIR 21 YEAR LONG CAREER
Starting in 1989, Sinister was a band arising in the middle of the Death-Metal hype. There debut CD ‚Cross the Styx‘ saw the light in early 1992, and sold many copies worldwide. Many live shows all over Europe followed. Touring with bands like Suffocation, Cannibal Corpse and Deicide increased the number of people knowing Sinister. In the years after that, Sinister succeeded in maintaining their popularity by releasing their second album ‚Diabolical Summoning‘ (1993), ‚Hate‘ (1995) and doing many live shows all over Europe and a very successful 55 show-tour through all the USA. Some years past and the band released their mini-CD ‚Bastard Saints‘ (1996), and played a few live-shows. Several line-up changes followed, and led Sinister to write their most aggressive brutal and intense album so far ‚Aggressive Measures‘ (1998).This time their maintenance in Death-Metal paid off. Death-Metal is back, where for Sinister it never left. The response from fans and critics where good, sold lots of albums and played lots of good shows, of which a short US-tour and good festivals like Wacken open air, Milwaukee Metalfest and Czech Dynamo blessed their way. Creative Killings was released at Hammerheart Records, September 2001. The album was promoted with shows in Russia, Belarus and a 26 show tour across the rest of Europe. In 2002 Sinister decided to join forces again with Nuclear Blast records. The result is the release of the album ,Savage or Grace’, which was released May 12th 2003. The album was promoted through shows in Mexico, Columbia and a two week tour with Cannibal Corpse across Europe. After a split-up for almost three years (the band was uninspired and poorly motivated due to conflicts within the line-up) Sinister returned with the massive album ,Afterburner‘, which was released in 2006. Together with new drummer Paul Beltman, lasting members Aad Kloosterwaard (vocals) and Alex Paul (guitar/bass) continued the path that they left some years before. The album got good critics and the band played live in more then 25 countries, together with newcomer Bas van den Boogaard, to support the album. In 2008 drummer Paul decided to leave the band due to personal motivation problems. He was replaced by Edwin van de Eeden. The band also left Nuclear Blast Records and signed a new deal with Massacre Records. They entered the studio in may 2008 to record the new album ,The Silent Howling‘ which was released end of 2008. With their new and ninth album “Legacy Of Ashes” SINISTER unveil a ridiculously heavy piece of death metal excellent produced at the Soundlodge studios. The straight heaviness and the massive production mark the biggest changes to the former “The Silent Howling” album.
