Born in 1991, Throne Of Ahaz emerged from the same cold Nordic soil that gave rise to the early Scandinavian black metal movement, yet carved out a distinct identity through a more atmospheric and arcane approach. Their debut full-length Nifelheim (1995) stands as a cornerstone of the genre’s second wave, a work steeped in mournful melody, ritualistic pacing, and an unmistakable sense of nocturnal grandeur.
