Valdrin is a U.S.-based melodic black metal band known for their intricate compositions, storytelling prowess, and immersive soundscapes. Since their 2010 inception, the Cincinnati-based band has been focusing on building their own narrative, skillfully crafting an elaborate sci-fi saga. Apex Violator is the latest chapter in the ongoing epic. For those of you who are not familiar with Valdrin’s opus, here is what you need to know…
Throughout the lore of the Ausadjur Mythos, the flawed hero, Valdrin Ausadjur and his manipulative adversary, Nex Animus, have traversed several worlds, united by the desire to escape all spiritual bounds and constraints. From Nex’s creation of the Orcus underworld on Two Carrion Talismans, to Valdrin’s arrival therein on Beyond the Forest, the two lost souls have left a wake of destruction in their path. Valdrin’s destiny as an agent of spiritual balance was corrupted within the confines of Hospitium Mortis, a dimension beneath Orcus itself, a place foretold in arcane whispers on Effigy of Nightmares. The culmination of Nex’s unholy conspiracy was achieved in the destruction of Orcus, Aurae, and the host world: Earth. In the aftermath of this calamity, the two souls began a centuries long journey through the depths of the cosmos.
As Valdrin returns to his homeland, the celestial kingdom of Ausadjur, Nex likewise reaches the Animus Lair, and so begins the concurrent events of Throne of the Lunar Soul and Apex Violator.
