Visteria is the sole creation of Warsaw-based artist Hönorata – guitars, bass, vocals, and production are all handled by one woman whose frame of reference runs from female-fronted US metal to early UK hardcore protagonists such as G.B.H. or Broken Bones. "I spent years screaming along to bands like Détente, Chastain, Znöwhite, trying to develop my own voice," she says. "Détente has been an especially important influence on the sound I’m aiming for."
Originally released in late 2024 via Godz Ov War Productions, the self-titled debut demo sold out its first cassette pressing almost instantly – a second followed, and went the same way. “Visteria” offers four rapid-fire tracks plus intro in 15 minutes, each one a compact, furious statement driven by raw riffing and Hönorata’s throat-shredding vocals.
The aesthetic — leather, spikes, inverted crucifix — is as deliberate as the music, and Hönorata makes no distinction between the two. “An artist’s appearance is a visual extension of their music, message, attitude, and personality. Image and music are inseparable.” When High Roller Records came calling after Black Silesia Festival, she was caught off guard: “I was completely shocked. Literally lost my mind.” The reissue on 12” mini LP and CD finally gives everyone who missed the tape a chance to catch up.
