After years of haunting the web, minds and hearts, here is finally the debut album on which the now Berlin-based formation delivers a graceful gem that combines melancholy and a spirit of optimism and immediately gets under your skin with its wonderful production. With "Wonderful Life", Voodoo Beach deliver post-punk / noise rock at the highest level Similar to Karies, Die Nerven, Friends Of Gas or Messer, Voodoo Beach have been influenced by 90s noise rock and mix these influences with an obvious love of post-punk and shoegaze. Hard hits meet guitar riffs billowing through the ether, rolling basslines and gripping drumming. Fascinating guitar chords with a sometimes slightly Middle Eastern touch, but always in post-punk noiserock psychedelic mode. The smoky vocals of singer Heike Rädeker, whose lyrics are so honest that they hurt, are enthroned above it all. With Hendrik Otremba (Messer) and John Moods (Fenster), the band was able to secure great guest contributions for the album. One of the records of the year!
