Music as a place of refuge. With their dense sound of spacy psychedelic rock, YAGOW from the Saarland give substance to this phrase. Eight years after their formation and four years after their debut, the trio are back with a powerful musical trip. Psychedelic rock with a good dash of spacerock and shoegaze. On their self titled album, Saarland-based YAGOW present six songs that sound as if the band had shared a rehearsal room with HAWKWIND and EARTH. Solid heaviness meets laid-back passages. Everything is beautifully dirty and authentically produced. The album never seems overloaded or unpleasantly intrusive. The sound rolls stoically forward and has an almost hypnotizing effect. A great musical-psychedelic trip that listeners should definitely get involved with and which in parts is reminiscent of Twin Peak's mysticism.
