These poems document Ian Wills’ journey from biting poverty and an abusive childhood on the grimmest London council estates of the 70s to the top flight of British business, battles with politicians and his own demons, and finally to his much-longed-for career as a writer and performer. They are visceral, raw, lived documents of someone who has always had to fight for everything he’s achieved, most often, and most tellingly, with himself. It’s a unique and brutally honest account of human weakness and strength, as told to Alex Ogg.
