DIE album is a case history: it’s an experimental album that has become ”album of the year” driven also by a sui generis single like Stormi that was shared by the fanbase to constantly create a new one and expand it.
DIE is IOSONOUNCANE's second album and constitutes, in the Sardinian artist's discography, a fundamental watershed. Having departed from the new Italian singer-songwriter scene with an album of low-fi electronics with a political approach and torrential lyrics, with DIE Iosonouncane retreats into a totally different sonic and lyrical world.
Musical references range from Battisti to Animal Collective, passing through the sounds of progressive rock for which Italy is recognized worldwide. The lyrics are short and sparse, almost prayers.
By the end of 2015, the album was mentioned in all the year-end charts and continued to sell and spread steadily in the years to come.
DIE has given rise to three tours: one solo, one acoustic duo, and one with “Mandria,” the band that IOSONOUNCANE formed in order to perform his repertoire live.
The tour reached out all Italy and in 2017 also Europe with sold out shows in Berlin, London, Paris (Boule Noire) and a memorable performance at Primavera Sound in Barcelona in 2017.
