On his fifth release, “Direct Memory Access”, Master Boot Record displays his incredible growth over the past few years as a composer, effortlessly weaving baroque 8-bit melodies over chugging guitars and pounding drums. Carving his own niche out of both the chiptune and metal worlds (self-describing as cypher-metal), MBR welds his influences together masterfully with his classical leads, and accented perfectly by the tortured operatic howls of French gonzo vocalist Öxxö Xööx (Igorrr), who features on half of the album's tracks to add a new dimension unheard of in MBR's works until now. These are the first tracks of MBR with vocals.
