"Wirtschaft Arbeit Technik" is, above all, funny and catchy, and the German lyrics are less a hindrance than an invitation to delve deeper into this world of cynicism, pastiche and unabashed self-pity. Recorded live in a home studio by the band and their friend David Seyfahrt, "Wirtschaft Arbeit Technik" is the epitome of a well produced garage rock record, with a sound that somehow combines the warm tones of jam bands and the symphonic rock of the 70s with the cold shoulder of punk bands like Fugazi and Wipers. The first single "Wirtschaft Arbeit Tod" is an exercise in eclectic garage rock dynamics, combining German spoken word with krautrock and neo-psychedelica.
